2-1-1 Maine is an easy-to-access, free phone number and online service that allows individuals to link to a broad range of health and social service resources across the state and right in their own communities.
From learning where to go for counseling, to how to find after school programs, to where you can make a difference by volunteering, dialing 2-1-1 is the simple, centralized tool linking you to over 5,000 resources and the answers you need.
Live call center specialists help callers identify their need and direct them to the most appropriate assistance.
2-1-1 is a national movement and Maine is the 15th state to offer the service statewide.
Residents in Maine call dial 2-1-1 for help now. The call center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Calls from cell phones will also be accepted.
Many partners worked long and hard for 6 years to bring this innovative service to Maine. The major 2-1-1 partners include the ten United Ways in Maine, Ingraham (who serves as the 2-1-1 Call Center provider) and the State of Maine.
There are 7 resource coordinators located throughout the State who will keep the information on 2-1-1 Maine database accurate and current.
